L'Ancre vive

A region rich in land and history, this is where Dominique and Gilles decided to cast off in 2020. Respectively multi-talented artists and architects, these two enthusiasts fell in love with the Château de la Girardière and renovated it for you.
Arriving in the woods, full of mystery, the façade of l'Arche is delicately outlined between the branches of the trees.
An idyll, even a nest of islands, l'Ancre Vivre awakens the flavors of the living: the vegetable garden, the orchard, the “Nerval” stream, the upstairs gallery entirely open to the outside, the mottled objects...

Welcome to our passengers for an immersion in the heart of the green setting of our home, in the serenity of our personalized rooms: Viva la Vida! Experience, Orient Express, Rose des vents and N°5.
All rooms feature en suite bathrooms with toilet, shower or bathtub, as well as complimentary toiletries and toiletries.
A continental breakfast enhanced by gourmet and seasonal market-inspired flavors. Granola and homemade yoghurt. Homemade jams from the orchard, such as fig with lavender or greengage with basil.
The table d'hôtes is open mainly in the evenings, and can be booked 48 hours in advance for groups of 4 or more.

Viva la Vida!” room
In 1954, Frida Kahlo painted Viva la Vida, her ultimate canvas. A still life of watermelons where brilliant red rubs shoulders with green, violet, blue, orange and Sienna.
In this room, we pay homage to this artist: strong, determined and bursting with color, reflecting a vital and political attachment to her Mexico.

Orient Express” room
Paris to Istanbul in 3 days and 2 nights! In 1891, it was the magical link between two worlds, two sides of the Mediterranean, connected at breakneck speed for the time.
The magic and then the myth of Agatha Christie's famous 1934 “Crime of the Orient Express”.
At L'Ancre Vive, we like to make our passengers dream by immersing them in a historical and cinematic rediscovery. Make way for everyone's dreams!

The “Experience” room
The “Expérience” room on the 1st floor of the Tour Rose is a real design challenge: the desire to bring together the old and the new, both in the objects, furniture and lighting, and in the bathroom, a nod to the work of visual artist Jean-Pierre Raynaud, clad in 15x15 white tiles with black grout.
An experience that we hope will be unforgettable.

Rose des vents” room
At the very top of the Tour Carrée, the highest point of the château, with 4 different viewpoints from its center: the rooftops, the park, the Beaujolais mountains, the inner courtyard...
Compass rose, symbolism and oriental notes: captain's cabin, painter's studio, or writer's ivory tower, the traveler will feel the sense of peace and well-being that your light reveals.

Room “N°5
“An audacious fragrance, an opulent, abstract, mysterious bouquet with no dominant notes”. In N°5, come as you are, project your personality into the space. A touch of fifties soul, a touch of the eighteenth century with its marble fireplace, a few contemporary notes, a view of tall trees and the sun welcoming you through its two south-facing windows.
