The Haut Beaujolais - The round of the 4 passes - Loop 4.1

Sporty side
Difficult course which will be appreciated by cyclists who love passes. A real treat on practically deserted roads, with beautiful panoramas. A journey that must be done. We climb 4 passes including the Boubon which we take in both directions. The percentages do not exceed 10% (with one exception with the Col de la Croix de l’Orme). This course can be done by cyclists with little training. If they manage their effort well, they will remember it well.
For very experienced cyclists, linking routes 4.1 and 4.2 (i.e. 100 km with 1,900 m of elevation gain) will give them great pleasure.

Tourism side
Simple in their architecture, the small churches located along the route reflect the atmosphere of tranquillity of the landscapes of Haut-Beaujolais. That of Saint-Mamert, dated 1095-1105, has retained the sobriety of its Romanesque style. In Saint-Christophe, the building built on the hill overlooks the village and the Grosne valley. The Church of Saint-Jacques-des-Arrêts houses a collection of paintings by the Lyon painter Jean Fusaro, recognised as one of the masters of painting figurative lyrical French.
