69220 Belleville - Belleville-en-Beaujolais
The Hôtel-Dieu was opened in 1733 and has remained unchanged since, making this a unique building in the Beaujolais. Its 3 sick rooms, 2 chapels, apothecary laboratory, council chamber and archives illustrate hospital life in the 18th century.
Accessible to people with reduced mobility (except the Sisters' Chapel). A privileged witness to the history of the hospital from the 18th century to the present day, the one-hour tour takes you through the day-to-day life of the hospital, with visual objects, pharmacy instruments, surgical instruments of yesteryear, therapeutics and the preparation of remedies. Let yourself be surprised by the authenticity of this place and explore the 3 wards still occupied in 1991, the 2 chapels and the simple garden. Guided tours of the apothecary and its collections of earthenware, porcelain and glass, as well as the Council Chamber, are also available.
