Admire the Bourdon Tower and its panoramic view, taste Régnié AOC wine in the cellar, then share the link between the village church with its two bell towers and Fourvière!
You'll love:
• The Tour Bourdon site, a Beaujolais photo spot, for the unusual pyramid and the 360° panorama overlooking the Ardières Valley.
• The winemaking spirit of the Régnié wine cellar, the discovery of the AOC, and the shop where, in addition to wine, regional products are sold.
• Have your children guess what the village's church with two steeples has in common with the Fourvière basilica. It's Bossan, the architect who designed the Régnié building.
A little culture:
In the footsteps of the glacier
A geosite and giant cairn approximately 5 meters high, the Tour Bourdon stands in the heart of the Régnié wine region. During the planting of a vineyard in 2015, the machines unearthed blocks of sandstone. Relics of local geological history, they are stacked in situ like a pyramid.
While their presence is common here, it was the subject of much debate before science explained it by the action of a thousand-year-old glacier, which tore them from the mountain and then deposited them in its wake.
