126 Allée du Colombier
Pont de Saint Bernard
69480 Anse
Situated on the banks of the Saône, opposite the Château de Saint Bernard (the former home of the painter Utrillo), Le Colombier is open from Wednesday to Sunday lunchtime. View our menus and book online at www.aucolombier.com. Come and discover Frédéric Côte’s cuisine
Originally from Roanne, he began his career with an apprenticeship at the ‘Jacques Cœur’ restaurant in Renaison under Jean Yves Giroudon, followed by a tour of France working with leading chefs such as Roger Vergé in Mougins, Francis Chauveau at ‘La Belle Otero’ in the Carlton in Cannes, and Jean-Paul Jeunet in Arbois, and Georges Blanc in Vonnas, he set off for New York to work with Daniel Boulud, seeking new horizons, new flavours and a “melting pot” of tastes and ingredients… before returning to Lyon to the famous “Caro de Lyon”, the place that served as a gourmet and social hub for many prominent figures from Lyon and Navarre.
In an exceptional and privileged setting, on the banks of the Saône, I welcome you throughout the seasons, in turn: in the dining room by the fireplace, under the glass roof of the Camargue-style thatched pavilion, or on the terrace, to discover a cuisine I like to call “Bistronomic”, featuring our small regional producers, seasonal produce and market finds. This instinctive cuisine keeps that exciting spark alive, with flavours that embody the charm and romance of this place, “Au Colombier”… And of course, our wine list will be at your disposal to share with you the passion and talent of our winemaker friends from our beautiful region, and much more besides...
