The theater of Villefranche offers of a magnificent 650-seat theatre which hosts several different programmes throughout the year (theatre, circus, dance, music, shows for young audiences, etc.).

As a state-approved stage, the Théâtre de Villefranche's remit is to support the creation and broadcasting of shows and to take part in cultural activities to help as many people as possible discover the performing arts.
Since 2005, the theatre has hosted the Nouvelles voix en Beaujolais contemporary music festival at the end of October.
