At the Domaine Striffling, family estate since the 17th century, Mathilde and Guillaume Striffling will welcome you to share with you their work on the 13 hectares of vines in conversion to the organic agriculture.
The unique grape variety is « Gamay Noir à jus blanc». It is located on a very diversify granic soils (sand and schist), which has as consequences the production a wines very varied. We also produce Chardonnay and Viognier on granitic soils.
The total area is around 13 hectares.
The average age of Vines is 60 years old and the yields are controlled by green harvest and sodding vineyards.
Concerned about nature and the quality of the work, Guillaume works his vines with common sense and greatest respect for the environment and the soil.
In the cellar, the wines are also worked with a logic of respect for the final product. Traditional macerations and long macerations produce wines with character.
Contrary to the fame of Beaujolais wines, our wines are at their best 2 to 6 years after their “creation”. The best cuvées are selected to be bottled at the property.
