In the historic town of L’Arbresle and its surrounding neighborhoods, explore the ruins of the castle of the Abbots of Savigny, Renaissance-style houses, and the 15th-century stained-glass windows in the choir of Saint Jean Church.
The historic center reveals a rich medieval and Renaissance heritage : remnants of the abbots' castle, half-timbered houses, the Auberge des Trois Maures, the Maison des Champs de Valous, and the residence known as Jacques Coeur's house. The Saint-Jean church, mostly from the 15th century, houses remarkable stained glass window and highlights the golden stone extracted from the Carriere de Glay. The use of this stone on several monuments in the old town gives a particularly warm and luminous hue. L'Arbresle is also part of the UNESCO Global Geopark of Beaujolais.
