Iconic site in Beaujolais Geopark

Overlooking the Saône and Dombes plains, Mont Brouilly hill and its chapel offers visitors a breathtaking 360° panoramic view of the Beaujolais Wine Route.

Mont Brouilly hill, with its hillsides covered with vines, is unmistakable from all other hills and is also distinguished by the uniqueness of its soil composed of blue rock made of volcanic origin. It is this uniqueness that gives the exceptional land of the Brouilly and Côte-de-Brouilly wine appellations.

Rising to an altitude of 484 metres, this remarkable landmark in the Beaujolais landscape, the icon of the area, has at its summit the Notre-Dame-des-Raisins Chapel which was built in 1854 to protect the vineyard from bad weather and diseases.

Mont Brouilly hill also features guided trails to the summit and sporting events (car rallies, mountain biking...) for the ambitious climbers. For those who are curious, there is a geoscope, an iconic site of the Beaujolais Geopark, to quench their thirst for learning. Meanwhile, astronomy enthusiasts will have access to the best spot in the area to observe the stars.

Families can relax and enjoy a picnic before heading back down into the fir forests.
