Its landscapes, its exceptional biodiversity, its geology (one of the most diverse in France, and even in Europe!), have made it possible for Beaujolais to be designated a World Geopark by UNESCO in 2018.
Its unique location at the foothills of the Massif Central to the north-west of Lyon and on the flanks of the Alps offers visitors an opportunity to see and understand Beaujolais through its landscape, its land and its progress over the centuries.
That is why, every year, local stakeholders organise guided tours, walks, lectures, lively workshops and tastings of Beaujolais wines to help people understand the exceptional diversity of Beaujolais. The program is fun and educational and is ideal for family activities.
Various events are held throughout the year ranging from guided tours of the Château de Pravins in Blacé, demonstrations of gilded stone-cutting by the Carrières de Glay association, initiation to the stained-glass and calligraphy crafts by the Artists and Craftsmen of Oingt, ideal for both adults and children.
